Worst Twitter Takes of Week 9

From football parody accounts to Brandon Walker, we’ve got the worst Twitter takes of the weekend that was.

I have no words for how awful of a take this is. Mel Tucker won in a pandemic year and was carried by Kenneth Walker last year. I’m not sure what snowflake world some people live in, but being 0-2 is not “owning” in sports. Sounds like the words of someone that lacks the knowledge of ball.

They indeed were not. The once ranked South Carolina Gamecocks fell to the Missouri Tigers. Word around the message boards is Beamer spent half the week working on a new TikTok dance rather than preparing for the Missouri defense.

While we admit this tweet is old, it circulated this weekend for…a few reasons. One, Tennessee absolutely embarrassed Kentucky on the football field. Two, Brandon Walkers is a clown.

We’re not knocking Jordan for making this tweet. He didn’t have to given how little of it was true, but we’re still not knocking him. The after effects of this are fantastic though. Mark Stoops came on national television to basically say they wasted a bye week preparing a plan that was so terrible that it questions whether he should even be the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats.

Okie Dokie ConservativPokie. Spencer Sanders was by far and away the worst Big 12 QB on Saturday going 13/26 for 147 yards and 1 INT, leading his team to 0 points against a Kansas State defense that gave up 38 points a week earlier to TCU. We hope you reevaluate your Big 12 QB rankings.

It’s really that easy to recruit these days:
Step 1: Put out an alternate uniform for recruits to see
Step 2: ….
Step 3: Profit/Recruit commits to BYU

I gave this poster the benefit of the doubt and tried to find a stat that Spencer Rattler is top 5 in. Sadly, the best I could do is Spencer Rattler is tied for 6th in interceptions thrown on the year. This kind of blind loyalty is what we love to see but the execution is poor-to-quite-poor.

What are we as a people if we do not call out ourselves? This was a terrible take. Utah without Cam Rising is still a decent enough team to come into a game on The Palouse on a Thursday night and win with a ton of back-up players. Utah without Cam Rising is more like Oregon State.

With USC playing without their top two WRs, Brenden Rice had 5 catches for 62 yards (12.4 YPC) and 1 TD vs Arizona. USC easily has the best wide receiving room in the nation and to trash anyone’s choice to join that room is a terrible take. Add in the fact that Lincoln Riley is known for putting players on that side of the ball in the NFL and you may have the worst take of the week.

Oklahoma ranks in the 100s for opponent conversions on 3rd and 4th downs. They are 83rd in opponent points per game. Oklahoma’s defense is arguably worse under Brent Venables than Alex Grinch. Reminder that Lincoln Riley only took a 3rd string safety with him from this defense. They were not poorly stocked.

I guess we have to finish where we started. The football parody account made another funny joke. Ohio State put up 44 points and 452 yards of offense. They averaged 10.4 yards per pass. Yes, the run game wasn’t what they wanted, but they tore up the Penn State secondary. Maybe he meant clown instead of magician? Both are great at parties.
